Gooseberries Thursday 19th

The gooseberries outside the polytunnel and chicken shed are very prolific but also very closely spaced and hard to weed., We are moving some to the slope below the chicken shed to give them more room with the aim of moving them away from the area in front of the polytunnel to create more open space. The plan is to make maybe two smaller new beds in front of the polytunnels having fully weeded out the bindweed and couch grass. We have also bought some new plants to give greater variety of dessert gooseberries. ( the varieties are Pax, Redeva and Larell)

Holes being made through the hardcore for transplanting gooseberries into
we have taken out alternate bushes from this row by the chicken shed
